Today’s look was super comfy and easy to style. For those who have been following along with this blogging journey, you know at least two things about me. One thing is I love stripes! Absolutely, positively have to wear stripes. The nautical look is my all time fav. I don’t care the season or the reason. This is a go. And two – I have an affinity for scarves to the 10th degree! Winter, spring, summer or fall, all you have to do is tie one on!

Navy, Yellow, Denim, Stripes
The bright yellow against the deep navy was a pleasant contrast. Since it was so dreary this morning, I needed to be uplifted. It made me smile and it did the same for others. (Insert Pharrell’s “Happy” here!) I received so many compliments on the color and how much light and joy it projected on this rainy day.
This scarf – WAS…THE…KEY! It was the key to making this look spring you into that ‘happy-place’ and it was my 3rd piece! If you are wondering what 3rd piece, click here and check out my post on elevating your style to the next level.
Last week, I attended an event for stylists and bloggers at Saks showcasing the 2015 trends. Of course, denim will be huge and in new silhouettes (or old – most of the looks are retro). And the jean jacket is making its comeback. (I have always loved denim jackets and will forever have one or a couple in my wardrobe. Ha Ha!)
But I love functional fashion! Fashion that looks cute but serves a purpose. Hence my love for scarves. Jean jackets, just like scarves, can stave off the cold and look cute while doing so. And this was a bonus styling day. There are two other styling tips that I have to share. See the raised collar on the jacket? This little trick automatically makes you look like you are confident and stylish. It screams, “rebel.” Then take a look at the rolled sleeves. I bet that’s not how you normally do it. Right? No, this is the latest more relaxed rolled sleeve. I have seen this on the Today show, in fashion mags and blogs lately. And I love it. No more, tourniquet sleeve, cutting off your circulation and it matches the raised collar.
Today’s look:
Yellow Scarf – Target
Jean Jacket – New York and Company
Navy Tee – Anthropologie
Chevron Striped Maxi Skirt – Lane Bryant
Flats – Anne Klein via DSW
Why don’t you try these tips on for size and report back. Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on the raised collar and the rolled sleeve. Will you be sporting the denim jacket this season?
Nice. I like the new look of the blog.

Love the look. Super super cute. The third piece was the key…bright and sassy. And the raised collar and turned up sleeve is a welcomed change. Love denim jackets.

I love that “bright and sassy.’ It is nice to add sass to your look. After all, it is all about how you wear it. I say attitude makes the look! Thanks for reading!
